The fall sports season may not have ended the way Roanoke College’s team would have liked, but many individual athletes were still honored for their outstanding play by being named All-ODAC.
The women’s soccer team had seven players earn All-ODAC honors.Â Jessica Welfare ’11 earned first team honors for the fourth straight year.Â Rebekah Adams ’13 earned second team honors.Â Adams led the team in game winning goals with four. Stephanie Parenteau ’11, Lindsay Kooiman ’11, McKenzie Garst ’11, and Paige Gaeng ’11 all earned All-ODAC honorable mention.Â Parenteau lead the team in goals with 12.Â Maya Kantor ’14 was the lone freshmen to be named All-ODAC, earning second team honors.Â Kantor started every game for the Maroon’s this season.
Lee Sheldon ’12 was the lone Maroon to earn All-ODAC honors for field hockey.Â Sheldon lead the ODAC with 8 defensive saves.Â She lead the Maroon’s with three assists on the season.Â This is the second straight year Sheldon has been named All Conference.
Cross Country runners Maggie Moore ’11 and Lauren Kennedy ’14 earned second team All-ODAC honors.Â Moore finished 9th in the Championship race with a time of 24:10.Â Kennedy came in 20 seconds later and finished 13th.
Maggie Wagner ’11 was named first team All-ODAC for volleyball for the second straight season. Wagner was named ODAC player of the week Oct. 4. Kelsey Largen ’12 earned honorable mention honors.Â Wagner and Largen were one and two on the team in kills as well as two and three respectively in serves and defense.
As of press time there is still the pending release of recipients of Men’s soccer All-Conference honors.
