Ah October, fall is most definitely upon . Just as the leaves are dropping so are the games. Here is a brief look at your video game releases for the month of October:

October 11:

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon: The tenth installment to the popular flight simulator, this game is sure to offer any pilot fan a grand time. With gauntlet runs and other aerial trickery this game is a must buy for anybody who loves flight games. The game is for Xbox 360 and PS3.

DanceDance Revolution 2: Dancing freaks unite as the sequel to the most popular Wii game drops mad beats on your system. Featuring all new hit songs fresh from Japan, if you dance, then you will dance with joy to this game.

Sideway: New York: Coming to the Playstation Network, this game is sure to be an interesting concept. The protagonist of the game is a graffiti artist who gets sucked into his own art. Due to this you are left to fend off your turf from other attackers on a 2-D plane.

October 18:

Batman: Arkham City: For anybody that’s played the first game this date has been a long time coming. This is the sequel to the award winning Batman game, Arkham Asylum. This game brings people to the darker side of Gotham City. With riveting storytelling and top notch action this game will surely be a contender for game of the year award.

October 25:

Battlefield 3: What can I say about this game that hasn’t already been said? This game has been called everything from a call of duty killer to a game changer in the world of first-person shooter. If you are at all in love with shooters then this game is must have.

October 31:

Silent Hill: Downpour: Another sequel to one of the most influential horror RPG games of our time, Silent Hill offers a new story line in a form of a different protagonist. In this game you play an inmate who through a freak accident finds himself escaping and making his way to the town of Silent Hill. While there he has to battle the evils of both the town and himself. The game comes out for Xbox 360 and Playstaion 3

Pick of the Month:

Now this was actual a hard one to pick. I would have to give it a three way tie between Battlefield 3, Batman: Arkham City and Sideway: New York. The reason for this is because while two of them are really good contenders for game of the year, Sideway: New York looks really promising for an indie game and I think the core design of the game will be interesting to see.

Lots of great games coming out this month and as always have an obscene amount of fun this October.
