“Hana-Kimi” Drama Released

To the Beautiful You (4 drama stars out of 5)

What would you do if your favorite high jumping hero, whom you idolize, lived in Korea?  Would you travel across the globe to meet him?  Not many would, but Goo Jae Hee is just crazy enough to do it.  Did I mention that she has to cut her hair and disguise herself as a boy at said high jumper attends an all boys’ school?   It is finally here, the Korean version of “Hana-Kimi”.  This wacky, romantic-comedy is based off of a Japanese manga by “Hisaya Nakajo, Hanazakari no Kimitachi e” (Hana Kimi), which translates as “For You in Full Blossom,” and has already been adapted for the screen by both the Japanese (2007 & 2011) and Taiwanese (2006).  Korea’s adaptation is being produced by the very well-known SM Entertainment, so expect quality and good-looking actors.  Some of the afore mentioned good lookers would include Choi Seol Ri as the heroine, Goo Jae Hee, SHINee’s Min Ho as the handsome high jumper Kang Tae Joon, and Lee Hyun Woo as the adorable soccer star Cha Eun Kyul.  The 16 episode series is currently airing and has 10 episodes out already.  If you would like to keep up with the series as it airs, translated episodes can be watched on viki.com.
