Unfortunately, its that time of the year where everyone on campus is getting sick. Here are some basic tips to remember whether you are sick or if you feel those symptoms kicking in.
This might sound a little childish but we all need a reminder sometimes; remember to wash your hands! The most basic way to get sick is by not washing your hands and spreading the germs from your hands to everything you touch. Â Try and carry a mini hand sanitizer, therefore it will be easier to sanitize your hands before you eat. For those of you who are currently sick and battling a sore throat, try to cover your mouth when you cough so you won’t spread as many germs.
For those of you, who are sick, remember to rest up. It’s difficult to rest since college students constantly have something to be doing but in order to keep doing those tasks your body needs rest. Also, make sure you are drinking a lot of water. If you aren’t into taking the common medicines like Tylenol or Dayquil then there are some home remedies you can follow. Honey can help with that sore throat and so can some hot ginger or lemon tea. Stick to eating warm food like soup that will literally warm you up. And if you haven’t been taking your vitamins then start taking some Vitamin C to build up your immune system. Last but not least, make sure you are eating a healthy diet that includes your grains, fruits and vegetables. These little things can make all the difference when you are sick or when it seems like everyone around you is sick.
If these tips aren’t enough, make sure you take time out of your day to stop by the health services office where you can get medical advice no matter the issue.
