Tim Smith (SR) qualified for Nationals in cross country this past weekend when he finished in 6th place at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships this Saturday, the 10th. Smith moves onto the NCAA National Championships for the second straight season.
Last year Smith won ODAC runner of the week honor 4 times and finished with a season high time of 24:50. In the National Championships last year, he came in 19th overall in a field of both DI and DIII runners.Â Tim’s time and placement put him in first place for all the DIII runners.
Smith has had a very successful year so far, winning ODAC runner of the week 3 times. He set an ODAC high time for the season earlier in the year with a fast race of 25:35. Smith qualified for nationals this year with a 6th place finish to and a time of 26:00.33 to help propel the Maroons to an 11th place finish earning All-Region honors for himself.
There was a send-off for Tim Smith on Thursday the 15th as Tim Smith in headed to Terre Haute, Indiana this Saturday November 17th for the Championships. Good Luck Tim!
