Men’s Basketball

In a close game, the Men’s basketball team fell to Eastern Mennonite University with a final score of 82-76 on Saturday December 1st.  With this loss the Maroons are at 4-2 overall for the season, 0-2 in the ODAC.

Senior Kwasi Amponsah led the Maroons with 24 points and four steals for the evening.  This brings him just 12 points shy of an impressive one thousand career points over all.

Sophomore Daniel Eacho brought in 14 points for the evening while Senior Jordan Thacker finished with 10 points overall.

Things started out smoothly for the Maroons in the first half, leading most of the first half of the game.  However at 8:54 left till half time, Eastern Mennonite went on a 15-6 run to close the period. Bring the Royals on top to 42-33 by the end of the half.

The rest of the game became a score fest with Roanoke College going from behind by 12 to behind by 5 to eventually leading with a score of 74-72. Eventually Eastern Mennonite took and held the lead till the end of the game.

The Maroons return to play on Saturday, December 8th where they will take on Hampden- Sydney at away.
