This week’s student spotlight is atypical to others in that two students of Roanoke College are being featured. Shana Hensley and Alex Tarasidis have recently been highlighted as the Greek and Pan-Hellenic women of the month. This is a new program to motivate ladies within the Greek life at Roanoke to go above and beyond what is normally expected such as involving themselves in projects outside of campus. There is a list of guidelines the candidate must meet in order to be nominated for the honor.
Shana, a senior was recognized in February. A member of Alpha Sigma Alpha Shana is a Biology major with a concentration in health care delivery. Shana plans to attend a higher degree for physical therapy. The March recipient of this award is Alex Tarasidis, another senior. Alex is also a Biology major and an Anthropology  minor. She is a member of Phi Mu and has been accepted to the Virginia College of Medicine. These ladies are just the first of many to grace the title of Greek Woman of the Month. There will be many more to come in the rest of spring term and next fall.
