If there is a Sunday morning where Commons brunch isn’t quite hitting the spot, then take a cruise downtown to the restaurant “Scrambled” for a filling experience. The little breakfast shop is located right near the Center in the Square and has indoor and outdoor seating.

Sitting outside on a nice morning is the perfect way to start your meal here, complete with a refreshing cup of homemade OJ and a view of locals walking their cheerful pups. The atmosphere is relaxed as families enjoy their brunch and the weather. When the weather starts to get colder, there’s indoor seating to keep customers warm.

When first looking at the menu, it seems like there are few options. However, this makes a decision between the persuasive options much easier. I recommend one of their breakfast sandwiches or their famous vanilla french toast. The portion sizes are more than filling, which is great when preparing for a busy day.

The service is a bit sporadic, however the wait staff is very welcoming and does their best to accommodate everyone’s needs.

Instead of going to IHop or Denny’s, it may be a good idea to branch out and support some of the local breakfast places offered in Roanoke. With the prime location and satisfying meals, Scrambled is a great place to start a Saturday morning and walk around Downtown Roanoke. The restaurant is only open for specific morning hours on the weekend, so make sure to check the schedule before you go!
