Upcoming Grammy Nominations

As this year’s Grammys approach, many fans are extremely eager to hear who the best artists and performers were this year. The Grammy Awards will take place this Sunday, February 13th at 8 pm EST. The Grammy Awards will be held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA. Many artists that are set to perform are unsurpassed in music history and their talents reflect the nation’s popular culture. Some of these awe inspiring artists include Lady Antebellum, Katy Perry, Paramore, Miranda Lambert, and Lady Gaga.
Many wonder how a decision such as this is reached. The Recording Academy looks at the music aired from September 1st, 2009 to September 30th, 2010 in order to determine who will be awarded this year’s Grammy Awards.
Categories for this year’s coveted Grammy Awards include Song of the Year, Album of the Year, Best New Artist, Record of The Year, Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, Best Male Pop Vocal Performance, Best Female Vocal Country Performance, Best Pop Performance by a Group, Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals, Best Pop Vocal Album, Best Country album, and several other similar awards in the various genres of music.
There were several keynote artists and bands nominated for song of the year including ‘Beg, Steal or Borrow” by Ray LaMontagne, ‘Forget You’ by Cee-Lo, ‘The House That Built Me’ by Miranda Lambert,‘Love the Way You Lie’ by Eminem Feat. Rihanna, and‘Need You Now’  by Lady Antebellum.
There are also several up and coming artists who have made their way into the music scene during the past year. They have made their way onto the list of nominees for the Best New Artists category and include favorites such as Justin Bieber, Drake, Florence and the Machine, Mumford and Sons, as well as Esperinza Spalding.
There are several categories of paramount artists that are eagerly awaiting this year’s Grammy nominations.
Also in attendence at this year’s monumental event include a mix of music and television stars. Some of these include Neil Patrick Harris, Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus, John Mayer, Nicki Manij, and LL Cool J.
