There are several Greek organizations on Roanoke’s campus and while most people immediately think of social groups, they also include the various service and academic groups. One of these organizations blends a love for service with a passion for music. Mu Beta Psi is a nationally recognized co-ed fraternity, founded 88 years ago in 1925, which welcomes anyone with a passion for music. Brothers do not have to be music majors or have any musical talent, as anyone is welcome, but a love of music is a must.

This fraternity is few in numbers, with less than 10 active members at the moment, but they are a committed and close knit team.  Every person in this fraternity works closely with the music department on campus. They assist with organization within the department, setting up for concerts, and assisting the faculty whenever needed. In addition to this they also have several fund raisers throughout the year. Most of the proceeds go to VH1’s Save the Music organization as well as local music organizations.

Their next fundraising event is the annual Halloween Haunted House. This year it will be held at Monterey house on October 26th and 26th. More information will be printed in next week’s paper
