After a dramatic season finale, Once Upon a Time fans were left to wonder “What’s next!?” On September 30th season 2 premiered only to leave more questions to wonder about. “Broken” began the season were season 1 left off. The curse has been lifted and Mr. Gold (Robert Carlyle), also known as Rumpelstiltskin, summons magic into the real world. With the town’s memory back, Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison) finds herself breaking up an angry and revengeful mob led by the mysterious Dr.Whale (David Anders), whose fairytale identity is still unknown, at Regina Mill’s (Lana Parrilla) house.
While Mr. Gold plots his revenge again Regina after learning the truth of Belle’s (Emilie de Ravin) whereabouts, the fairytale world follows the story of Prince Philip finding his sleeping beauty (Sarah Bolger), with an unexpected companion, Mulan (Jamie Chung).Â Immediately there is the sense of a secret love affair occurring.
In the real world, between adapting to the fact that everyone in Storybrooke is a fairytale character, and protecting Regina as promised to Henry Mills (Jarod Gilmore) from Mr. Gold’s revengeful plot to kill her, Emma has her hands full and avoids Mary Margaret(Ginnifer Goodwin) and David Nolan’s(Josh Dallas) eagerness in learning about their daughter.
Naturally, the episode ends with a shocking twist that directly connects the real world and the fairytale world, leaving fans stunned. “So, what’s next!?” season 2 already has fans asking. There’s a lot in store with a wave of new characters approaching. With only one episode premiered, the season already looks promising.
