The last weekend before Fall Break, CAB and HEAT hosted their annual RC After Dark event known as Casino Night. On October 5th, between the hours of 8 and 10 PM, students were invited to take part in various Vegas style games such as blackjack, roulette, and craps. In addition to the invigorating nightlife being brought to campus, Health Services provided ridiculous condom races and random trivia.
The event was completely free of charge, and yet, like at most big CAB turnouts, people still won prizes. The students could play anything they wanted to try to win tickets for the ultimate raffle. Prizes included $10 Sheetz cards, an iPad and even a gigantic stuffed panda bear. According to Emily Shoup, a Sophomore Biology major and CAB member hired as a second-semester-Freshman, Casino Night usually brings in 100 students over the course of the night and “anytime we can reach a varied demographic or bring the students out [the event is considered] a success.” Kristen Fry, the President of CAB and a member of 3 years now, agreed with Emily’s statement that the event was a success. She followed up by confirming exactly 101 students attended the event this year.
CAB offers many events that are both fun and educational throughout the year. They are definitely worth checking out!
