The Maroons’ first game was a close 74-71 victory over Gordon College on Saturday November 16. Gordon College jumped to an early lead in the game scoring 2 points in the first 0:48 but an easy layup by Stefan Vulevic tied the game up a minute later. With 18:08 remaining Gordon College took a 2 point lead before both teams began to struggle to get the ball in the basket for 3 minutes until Alex Carnes made both of his free throws to give Gordon a 4 point lead at the 15:27 mark. The two teams battled back and forth and at 13:25 Gordon led by 7, but the Maroons battled back to tie the game up with 10:37 remaining off of a free-throw by Stefan Vulevic.

The two teams continued to play hard and keep the game close as the lead changed 2 more times and the half and the game was tied once more. In the final minute of the half, Gordon led by as much as 8 before the maroons closed the gap and left for the locker room down by 5.

In the second half Gordon was only able to hold onto their lead for 5 minutes before a Layup by Andrew Daniels tied the game up at 45-45. The two teams continued to struggle to get the win as they battled back and forth for the remaining 15 minutes of the game, during which neither team led by more than 4 points. By the end of the game the Maroons came out on top winning by 3 with a final score of 74-71. Daniel Eacho led the Maroons with 24 points, a career high, followed by Andrew Daniels with 16 points and Cameron Smith with 13 points, a career high as well.

The Maroons were unable to carry their momentum from their win the previous day as they dropped the second game to host team, Goucher College, by a final score of 91-82. The Maroons mostly dominated the beginning of the game, outscoring Goucher by 26-17 in the first 8:48 of the game, but the Maroons were unable to hold onto their 9 point lead as Goucher battled back to within 1 point with 9:40 remaining in the half. A Series of a free-throw and a 3 pointer by Julian Ramirez and a 2 pointer by Marcus Scott gave the Maroons a 7 point lead. Goucher came back though and fought hard to take the half leading 43-42 of the Maroons.

Roanoke was unable to hold off Goucher in the second half as Goucher went on a 12-3 streak in the first 4 minutes of the second half. Goucher refused to give up this lead as they held it for the remainder of the game and led by as many as 13 points. Goucher took the game from the Maroons 91-82. Daniel Eacho was the top scoring for Roanoke a second day in row with 20 points, and Cameron Smith set a new career high his second day in a row by scoring 19 points for the Maroons.
