On Saturday, Delta Gamma hosted their annual philanthropic event: Delta Jamma. With such beautiful weather, it was a day that brought students, potential new students, administrators, and the Greek community together. The event lasted for three hours and many activities were set forth for the duration of the event.
One event in particular was the corn hole tournament. The registration fee was three dollars and the goal was to be the last team standing. During the tournament, each participant was paired with a Delta Gamma sister. There was a cash prize awarded to the winning team.
Whether people were laying on blankets, tossing a football, playing games, or just dancing, students were joined together by such great spirit. Food was provided, and luckily,
fraternities were able to help out on the grill. Food tickets were sold but while ending the event, meals and snacks were given to those who came.
Since the event took place on the back quad, it was a great way to promote the Greek community to potential new students visiting Roanoke. Many potential students participated in playing corn hole and the other various games.
Delta Gamma’s philanthropy supported the organization Service for Sight. Realizing the gift of sight, Delta Jamma was a fundraiser to help children who are blind or visually impaired.
Events like Delta Jamma are what make the RC community so great. Many people showed up to support the cause. Keep an eye out for other philanthropy events from Greek Organizations on campus.
